Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala has revealed how Cristiano Ronaldo reacted when he told the former Real Madrid man he is not well liked in Argentina because of his perceived personality.
The 26-year-old is one of very few players who have played with both Lionel Messi and Ronaldo, and, seemingly because of his loyalties to his home country and to his Argentina teammate, was perhaps guilty of judging the five-time Ballon d'Or winner before getting to know him.
In a recent interview, Dybala admitted he told his Juve colleague that not many Argentines like him, to which Ronaldo responded by saying he is used to the stick he gets from rival supporters.
"None of us knew him personally, but as soon as he arrived, we discovered an excellent guy, very sociable and always available," he told the Argentina national team's official website.
"I was really surprised, obviously in a positive way.
"During a trip, I said to him, 'In Argentina, we dislike you a little for the way you are sometimes', but as far as I'm concerned, I met a different person. You surprised me.'
"He laughed and replied: 'I am as I am. I am used to receiving these criticisms.'"
