Superstar Neymar came under fire for refusing to shake a youngster’s hand recently, and one opponent believes the Brazilian must change if he wants to be respected like Lionel Messi is.
Celtic defender Anthony Ralston had a tough time against Neymar in their 5-0 loss to Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday, which was followed by the ex-FC Barcelona man refusing to shake his hand.
The 18-year-old’s teammate, Mikael Lustig, has now addressed the matter, insisting Neymar might not earn the same respect Messi has, due to incidents such as this.
“It was the same as usual from Neymar,” he told the Daily Record.
“He is an unbelievable footballer but we have seen the other stuff before and we will see it again. have said before that it’s part of his game.
“He tries to over-react a bit to make the defender step off. We will see it again and again.
“If he wants to be liked as much as Messi, maybe he needs to stop that.
“He’s up there with the best already – he’s so sharp and is an amazing footballer. Neymar is probably the toughest opponent in the world right now but Anthony did well.”
On the football front, the 25-year-old has scored five goals and assisted the same amount in his first five matches for the French giants.
