Lionel Messi and Neymar have returned to FC Barcelona’s training ahead of the new season as confirmed by the club on Wednesday.
Barcelona's star duo, along with Javier Mascherano and Dani Alves, has passed routine medicine checks at Camp Nou and was cleared to join the pitch.
While the rest of the squad travelled to Geneva to face Napoli this evening, the South American quartet remained in Barcelona after they just returned on Tuesday from extended breaks.
Neymar, who fractured a vertebra during the World Cup, also passed the medical test and can now join Barcelona’s team training.
The late arrivals are now set for three weeks of intense training in the build-up to the start of official matches in three week’s time.
Barcelona host Elche in their opening La Liga game, which takes place on 24 August.
