New FC Barcelona Signing Reveals Who Told Him To Sign For Club
FC Barcelona recently announced the signing of a Brazilian, who is expected to join the club in January 2019, and the player has now revealed which superstar advised him to join the Catalan giants.
Earlier this month, the club announced that they had secured Gremio midfielder Arthur's signature, with the player, according to reports, set to only join the club officially in 2019, although Barca are believed to have the option of luring him to Spain in July this year.
Arthur has now explained that it was Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar who told him to join the Blaugrana, something that could come as a surprise to some considering his reported fallout with the Spanish giants' board before his world record move to France.
"I'm happy because the negotiations have ended well for both Gremio and myself," Arthur told O Globo.
"We're pleased with how everything went and now I have to talk to my club to see when I can join Barcelona.
"I asked Neymar about Barcelona and he only had good things to say, he recommended me to join the club.
"I also spoke with (Philippe) Coutinho, who told me that it was a wonderful city and an excellent club to play for."
Arthur has been an impressive performer for Gremio since his breakthrough to the senior team, earning himself a call-up to the Brazilian national team last year, although he is yet to make his Selecao debut.
