Mbappe's current deal comes to an end in June, but he is seemingly set to make his decision once the campaign concludes.
The Frenchman confirmed last week there were new elements which he has to consider when making the decision, but Pochettino feels Paris is right place for the World Cup winner.
"Is staying at PSG possible? Yes of course," the PSG coach told reporters, as per Goal.
"When Kylian is in front of you, you can ask him the question. As a coach, we want the best for Kylian and the club.
"And the best for the club is that Kylian stays. It is also the best for Kylian. There is a negotiation."
Mbappe has been one of PSG's standout performers this season, after registering 28 goals and 20 assists across all competitions.
