After Lionel Messi fell to the ground bleeding following a challenge from Chris Smalling on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League, the defender has revealed what he and the Argentine discussed when the game was over.

The Argentine took a bad knock to the face during Barca’s 1-0 win in the first leg of their quarter-final in midweek, during a collision with Smalling 30 minutes into the match.
Messi was helped by medics as blood appeared to gush from his nose, while there was also blood above his left eye.
Speaking in an interview, Smalling has claimed his clash with the 31-year-old was a mistake, saying they addressed what had happened after the game.
"Yeah, we spoke after (the game)," he told BBC Radio.
"I didn’t realise at the time actually that I obviously caught him like that, but after the game we had a brief chat and I said ‘yeah, it was an accident’.
"Suarez after as well, we had a good tussle and he just shook my hand after and said ‘good luck’.
"It’s nice when you can have the battle on the pitch and there’s respect after the game. Normally you’re just trying to do your best and enjoy the game."
The second leg will take place at in Spain next Tuesday, with Barca having the advantage of an away goal.
