Lionel Messi has explained why he thinks FC Barcelona are better off without Brazilian superstar Neymar.
The 26-year-old, who is widely regarded as one of the best players in the world, left the Camp Nou at the beginning of the season to join Ligue 1 giants Paris Saint-Germain for a world record fee of €222 million (R3.3 billion).
Despite the Brazil international's exit, the Spanish giants have soared to the top of the LaLiga table, and Messi has had his say on the team's form without the now PSG star.
"Without Neymar, we are more balanced. His departure led to a change in the way we play," Messi told the Daily Mirror.
"We have lost a lot of our offensive potential but we have improved in defence. We have more balance and this allows us to be more solid."
The Blaugrana are looking to lift another famous treble this season as they are still in the running for the Copa del Rey and the UEFA Champions League titles.
