After it was said he did not want FC Barcelona to sign Antoine Griezmann in the most recent transfer window, superstar Lionel Messi has finally addressed the Frenchman's arrival at the Camp Nou and set the record straight.

Last year, despite Messi saying in a press conference that he would welcome the Frenchman to the Catalan giants, Griezmann snubbed the club's advances and decided to stay at Atletico Madrid for another season.
This was the reason his arrival earlier this year is believed to have annoyed the Argentine, and also due to his transfer making it more difficult for the Blaugrana to sign Neymar, who was desperate to return to the Camp Nou in the same window.
The situation led to Spanish publications suggesting that Messi is not entirely happy with Griezmann being at Barca, something the 32-year-old club club captain has now strongly denied.
"It is a lie that I did not want Griezmann to come," he told RAC 1.
"In the first year he wanted to come, I remember statements I made and said he was one of the best, and the best are always welcome for the winning project we all want.
"And Griezmann is one of the best and I have never had any problem with him, on the contrary."
Griezmann, who did not play a single minute against Sevilla this past Sunday, has scored three goals and assisted a further two strikes in nine matches for the Blaugrana so far this season.
