Mbappe and Neymar both bagged three goals each on the night, but Messi was unable to find the back of the net as he remains on three league goals.
Nevertheless, Messi pulled the strings on the night and contributed with an impressive three assists to take his tally to 11 for the season.
In doing so, the Argentine became the first player in Ligue 1 history to register three assists in two different encounters.
Mbappe, meanwhile, admitted it's a bit of a shame that the trio with Messi and Neymar is only begining to click now.
"Yes, it’s a shame it’s only happening now, but then there were a fair amount of circumstances and events that meant we were delayed. But we feel that we’re three quality players, and we trying to help the team as much as possible and that’s what happened today," he said, as per Get Football France News.
