A shock report has suggested that Lionel Messi's relationship with former Barcelona teammate Gerard Pique has completely broken down.
The Argentine was recently spotted in the city of Barcelona celebrating Xavi Hernandez's 42nd birthday along with ex-colleagues Jordi Alba and Sergio Busquets.
Pique was nowhere to be seen, leading to suggestions that the defender's once healthy relationship with the 34-year-old has taken major strain over the past year.
Messi departed the Catalan club in August 2021 following the expiration of his contract in Spain, after the Blaugrana made it clear they would not be able to renew his deal due to their widely documented financial troubles.

It was reportedly around this time that his relationship with Pique appeared to fall apart, with the Spanish centre-back believed to have told club president Joan Laporta that "nothing bad would happen" if Messi left.
This was according to Sport journalist Lluis Mascaro, who said in November that the Paris Saint-Germain forward was hurt by Pique's remarks.
The veteran Spanish defender has come under fire in recent days after it was claimed that he told Netherlands international Matthijs de Ligt not to join Barcelona in 2019 when his time at Ajax Amsterdam was nearing an end.
It has been suggested that the talented starlet had agreed a move to the Spanish giants before Pique's intervention, with De Ligt then deciding to join Juventus instead.
