With Lionel Messi having scored hundreds of goals for FC Barcelona throughout his career – 606 to be exact – the Argentine superstar has now revealed which one is his favourite.
Messi, who is Barca's all-time leading goalscorer, was speaking to TyC Sports when he revealed which one of his strikes he enjoyed the most.
The 32-year-old explained that he preferred scoring important goals rather than attractive ones. As a result, his header against Manchester United in the 2008/09 UEFA Champions League final was the best of the lot.
"My favourite goals are more than just attractive; they are important," Messi said, as reported by AS.
"It was in the Champions League final and helped us to close the circle with Guardiola and win the treble, which we had never done.
"That goal rounded up a spectacular game."
While Messi may prefer to score "important goals", the six-time European Golden Shoe winner has a knack for scoring spectacular goals and has been nominated a record seven times for the FIFA Puskas Award – an honour bestowed on the scorer of the best goal in a given calendar year.
The Argentina international has scored three goals in seven appearances across all competitions for the reigning LaLiga champions so far this season.
