Lionel Messi continues to write his name into the history books, and the Argentine superstar reached another incredible milestone during FC Barcelona's LaLiga win over Sevilla last weekend.
Messi scored his first goal of the season for his club during their 4-0 win over Sevilla at the weekend, and in doing so, became the first player ever to score in 16 consecutive LaLiga campaigns.
The Argentine's strike, a late free-kick from range, also saw him reach the milestone of scoring 100 goals from outside of the box for Barcelona, according to the club's official website.

Messi's long-range century is spread across various competitions, with 71 being scored in La Liga, 18 in the Champions League, eight in the Copa del Rey, two in the Spanish Super Cup and one in the UEFA Super Cup.
The Argentine international has also now scored 48 goals from direct free-kicks, drawing him closer to Juninho Pernambucano's all-time record of 77.
The 32-year-old's strike against Sevilla was also his 37th goal in 38 appearances against the Andalusian side, at least 10 more goals than he has scored against any other opposition.
