The Argentine was once again the Man of the Match in his side's 3-0 victory over Premier League champions Chelsea, which saw them progress to the quarter-finals of Europe's biggest club competition with their 4-1 aggregate win.
Messi scored Barca's first and third strikes in the match – nutmegging Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois twice in doing so – and also assisted the Catalans' second goal, scored by Ousmane Dembele.
His brace took his overall tally in the competition to 100 goals, becoming only the second player behind Ronaldo to reach this milestone.
However, Messi achieved his 100 UCL goals in just 123 appearances, 14 games less than Ronaldo needed to net his 100 strikes, according to Opta Sports.
The Portuguese scored his 100th Champions League goal in his 137th game in the competition, and currently sits on a record-breaking 117 UCL strikes.
