One of the major talking points from the Champions League action this week was Cristiano Ronaldo's sending off in his first European match for Juventus, but it has not overshadowed some of the terrific football supporters were treated to over the past two nights.

Crvena Zvezda's Milan Borjan was the pick of the goalkeepers following his brilliant performance in his side's 0-0 draw with Napoli on Tuesday night. The shot-stopper was forced to make seven saves to deny the Italian club and help his team earn a point from the fixture.

Ajax Amsterdam defender Nicolas Tagliafico earned a spot in the team with his surprising brace in his team's 3-0 win over AEK Athens on Wednesday, while Bayern Munich's David Alaba made the selection following his assist and clean sheet in the German giants' 2-0 away win over Benfica.

Right-back Joao Cancelo put in a brilliant performance in Juventus' 2-0 away victory over Valencia, while his teammate Giorgio Chiellini also makes the team.

Pogba's brace inspired Manchester United to a 3-0 win over Young Boys on Wednesday, and he also set up Anthony Martial's goal. Alongside the Frenchman is Liverpool's James Milner, who scored and performed well for the Reds against Paris Saint-Germain, while Luka Modric is the other midfielder selected.

Striker Michael Krmencik found the back of the net twice in Viktoria Plzen’s 2-2 draw with CSKA Moscow, earning himself a place in our front three, while Nabil Fekir assisted and scored in Lyon's shock 2-1 win over Manchester City.

The 10 Highest-Paid Players In The Champions League

Messi completes the team following his record-breaking hat-trick in FC Barcelona's 4-0 win over PSV Eindhoven two days ago. Among his strikes was a well-taken free-kick goal – he has now scored more hat-tricks and group stage goals in the competition than any other player in history.
