Ahead of FC Barcelona and Lyon's UEFA Champions League tie on Wednesday night, a French star has praised superstar Lionel Messi, whom he believes is the world's best footballer.
With the aggregate score at 0-0 after a goalless first leg, the Catalan club will host Lyon in the return fixture of the all-important round of 16 tie on Wednesday night.
Lyon captain Nabil Fekir, who was unavailable for the first match, will be back in the French side to take on the Blaugrana this week.
Speaking in the build-up to the clash, Fekir has called for the team to collectively stop who he thinks is the best player in world football, Messi.
"Barcelona are one of the best teams in Europe," he told Lyon's official website.
"It's always fun to play against these kinds of teams. And it's normal that the fans expect a lot from me in this match.
"We will give our all. Even if we know that it's going to be a tough match.
"For me, he's the best player in the world. I've already faced him on the pitch at the World Cup. Lionel Messi has been at the top for 10 years.
"He's been decisive every year. He wins trophies for his team. We will do our best to stop him."
Messi has scored six goals and assisted one further strike in five UCL matches so far this season.
