It has been claimed that Barcelona captain Lionel Messi has held "serious talks" with David Beckham over a move to his MLS franchise Inter Miami.
Shock Details Of Messi's New Contract Revealed?
There has been plenty of speculation around Messi's future in Spain, with the 33-year-old's contract at his boyhood club set to expire at the end of this month.
However, reports suggest that the six-time Ballon d'Or winner is likely to extend his stay with the LaLiga giants by two years before taking his career to the US.
According to the Daily Star, Messi is set to pen a new deal that will see him remain at the club until 2023, with Beckham's Inter Miami said to be favourites for his signature thereafter having held talks with the player's camp.
Speaking in a recent interview, one of Inter Miami's co-owners Jorge Mas said he is sure the Argentine will one day represent his club.
"David and I have been working really hard, we have aspirations of bringing the best players here and Leo Messi is a generational player, arguably the best player of all time," he told The Miami Herald.
"I am optimistic Messi will play in an Inter Miami shirt because I think it will complete the legacy of the greatest player in our generation and will meet with the ambitions of the owners of Inter Miami to build a world-class team."
