'Messi Has Another Four Years At His Peak'

A high-profile football personality believes FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi could stay at his prime for another four years.

PSG Boss: Mbappe Is Not A Messi

The Argentine has been in incredible form for the Catalan club this season, having contributed regularly to goals and assists throughout the 2018/19 campaign.

While many cannot imagine Messi continuing his brilliance into his late thirties, Spanish football expert and journalist Guillem Balague believes the forward will still be at his best for a while longer.

"I think he's got at least four years at his peak," he said, according to the Daily Star.

"And then, if he wants to, he can continue at a club like Barcelona, come in and out of games and just pick his moments. Because you can see how he actively rests during games. He applies defensively only when he needs to, mainly the big games. And he still has the spark, even though he might have a little bit of pain here and there.

"When he attacks from deeper positions, he makes a lot of damage, when he's in the final third he does as well. Still he's the best number 9, the best number 10, the best number 6, the best number 8 – did I leave any number from 6? Because he can do all that.

"We've got Messi for a long, long while."

'We Miss Ronaldo'

Messi has scored 33 goals and assisted a further 18 strikes in 34 games for Barca so far this season.
