Following FC Barcelona's UEFA Champions League semi-final defeat to Liverpool last week, manager Ernesto Valverde has admitted superstar Lionel Messi is still trying to overcome the hurt.
The Catalans responded to last week's European disappointment with a 2-0 home victory over Getafe on Sunday evening, in what was a rather dull performance at the Camp Nou.
Although he was happy with the victory, boss Valverde admitted the team, and notably Messi, is still trying to get over what happened at Anfield last week Tuesday.
"For us, a victory was essential to get rid of the ghosts in our heads," hesaid, according to Sportskeeda.
"Everyone will bounce back, although at the beginning it's hard. We have the Copa del Rey final in mind.
"Messi is making an effort to overcome the bad taste in his mouth.
"We all had high hopes to be in the Champions League final, and we have to move forward."
Champions Barca host Eibar this coming weekend in their final LaLiga match of the season, and will take on Valencia in the Copa del Rey final the following week.
