With superstar Lionel Messi having a pivotal role in rescuing FC Barcelona once again this past weekend, the Argentine has insisted the team should not depend only on him.
Before the 31-year-old's second-half introduction in Barca's clash with Athletic Bilbao on Saturday afternoon, the Catalans were unable to find the back of the net.
After he came on, Messi created many opportunities and hit the woodwork himself, before assisting Munir's equaliser in 84th minute.
The forward believes the team should not always rely on him as there is enough quality elsewhere in the squad.
"We have the squad and the players to be a great team, to be a strong team and to not depend on anyone," he said, according to Give Me Sport.
"This is Barca. We have enough players to not depend on one.
"These results have been a shame, but we have to stay calm because it's a long season."
Messi has scored eight goals and assisted a further five strikes in nine matches for the Blaugrana so far this season.
