Lionel Messi Explains How He Feels Seeing Cristiano Ronaldo & Real Madrid In Another UEFA Champions League Final
FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has commented on how it feels to see rivals Real Madrid and superstar Cristiano Ronaldo in yet another final of the UEFA Champions League – a competition the Catalan club has not won since 2015.
The Blaugrana have not had the best of times in Europe's biggest club cup competition since winning it in the 2014/15 campaign and were knocked out rather embarrassingly this season by Roma, who beat them 3-0 in Italy to overcome their 4-1 first-leg defeat.
While Barca have struggled in Europe's knockout stages of late, fortune has very much been on the side of LaLiga rivals Real, who will look to beat Liverpool and win their third consecutive UCL final next weekend.
Messi was recently asked about Real's form in Europe over the past few seasons, and the Argentine claimed it gives him motivation to keep going.
"I do not compete with Ronaldo," he told TyC Sports.
"It encourages me to see Madrid again in the Champions League final and to see them win.
"I want to win the Champions League every year, to be a league champion every year.
"I want to win, that's what we all want."
Messi scored six goals and assisted a further two strikes in 10 UCL games for the Blaugrana this season.
