FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has revealed the last time he spoke to Argentina legend Diego Maradona – and it's been years.
The 28-year-old recently spoke about his former national team boss, and revealed that, although he has not seen Maradona much in the past six years, their relationship is still strong.
"We haven't spoken in a long time, since the (2010) World Cup we may have crossed paths once or twice," he told an Egyptian TV station.
"He has his life, his things, and I have mine. We haven't spoken at all.
"Considering that we don't speak to each other, I have a great relationship with him."
Messi has often been compared to Maradona during his career, with many considering the Barca striker to be his former boss' successor.
However, there are many fans who do not agree with that sentiment as he has not done as much for Argentina as Maradona did.
