Manager Zinedine Zidane recently shocked the world when he announced he was stepping down as Real Madrid boss, and now FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has had his say on the matter.
At the end of last month, the Frenchman left his post as Los Blancos manager, which came as a surprise to many as it came just days after he oversaw Real's UEFA Champions League final win over Liverpool.
Leaving the Galacticos with nine trophies in two and a half years, including three successive European Cup titles, Zidane has written his name into football's history books, and Messi has now praised his decision to walk away.
"Nobody expected it," he told El Mundo Deportivo.
"It was a big surprise but he will have his reasons.
"I don't know what will have happened but it's good to go in the way he went after a time spent then in which he won practically everything.
"Nobody can hold anything against him."
Los Blancos are yet to announce who will replace the Frenchman at Real, but reports in Spain have linked the club with Antonio Conte, Mauricio Pochettino and Massimiliano Allegri.
