Very few players know Pep Guardiola as well as Lionel Messi does, and the Argentine has now commented on his former boss' move to Manchester City.
The FC Barcelona superstar has insisted that most of his players knew Guardiola wanted to coach in England, and explained why the Spaniard will be a success in the Premier League.
"For me, there is no question that Pep will be a success for Manchester City," Messi said, according to the Daily Mail.
"He has been a success at Barcelona and Bayern Munich, and there is no reason he won't have the same success at Manchester City, especially with the resources they have.
"It was a dream of his to coach in England, the players knew that; the only question was what club it would be.
"He is obviously tactically very special, but, with Pep, he wins the confidence of the players from the first day.
"Then the more you play under him and the more you see his methods and what that will mean for results on the field, the more trust you have in him.
"He does not compromise the way he plays. Manchester City fans can look forward to some very exciting football."
Guardiola and Messi could still meet in this year's edition of the UEFA Champions League, provided their clubs make it to the quarter-finals.
In addition, the Bayern Munich boss could also be in for a real treat if both the German giants and his new club City reach the next round and are drawn against each other.
