Lionel Messi has commented on his rival Cristiano Ronaldo's outburst after the UEFA Champions League final, when the Portuguese suggested he could soon leave Real Madrid.

The Argentine spoke to Mundo Deportivo and addressed a wide range of topics, including Neymar, players to watch at the 2018 FIFA World Cup, and Zinedine Zidane's departure from Real Madrid.

Messi was also asked about Ronaldo's comments after the UCL final, when his Portuguese rival revealed he could leave Los Blancos in the current transfer window.

"I do not know what went through his head or what his motives are," the Argentine told Mundo Deportivo, as cited by RealTOTAL.

"He will surely have his reasons. These are personal decisions that I cannot judge."

Messi and Ronaldo have chased each other for records ever since the latter arrived at Los Blancos in 2009.

They have shared the past 10 Ballons d'Or between them, but Ronaldo has overtaken Messi when it comes to Champions League titles after lifting his fourth in the past five years with Real last month.

Overall, the 33-year-old has now won the coveted trophy five times, while Messi has four Champions League medals in his trophy cabinet.

Real madrid without CR7 is like having a vehicle without wheels. So as for me i do not want to see Ronaldo out of Real madrid, cause am a committed Madridista. If CR7 departs the it will be a huge shock.
