That goal ensured that Messi has now scored at least once in the past 17 LaLiga campaigns, while it also saw him close in on an impressive record held by Pele.
Overall, the Blaugrana captain is on 635 strikes across all competitions for Barcelona, and only Pele managed to score more for a single club.
The three-time FIFA World Cup winner famously netted 643 goals for Santos during his heyday, meaning Messi only needs to score nine more goals for Barca to break the Selecao icon's record.
Pele set his record in 19 campaigns for Santos, while Messi could break it in his 17th season with Barcelona's first team.
