He scored a brace in the second half of the Blaugrana's 5-2 win over Betis, converting a penalty in the 61st minute before adding another goal eight minutes from time.
His second strike was his first goal from open play this season, while his spot-kick saw him close in on Ronaldo's record for the most penalties scored in LaLiga history.

Overall, Messi has now scored 97 penalties for club and country, excluding shootouts, and he last missed a spot-kick on 15 November 2019 – almost a year ago.
