The Argentine netted his 400th LaLiga goal for FC Barcelona in his side's 3-0 win over Eibar on Sunday evening.
In doing so, he became the first player ever to reach this milestone in LaLiga, and is also the only player to have netted 400 times in a single league.
However, when it comes to goals across Europe's top five leagues, Ronaldo is still 12 strikes ahead of the Blaugrana talisman.
The Portuguese forward scored three goals for Sporting Lisbon in Liga NOS, 84 strikes for Manchester United in the Premier League, 311 goals for Real Madrid in LaLiga and has 14 strikes to his name with Juventus in Serie A so far. His overall tally across Europe's top five leagues is thus 412 goals.
Messi needed 435 games to reach 400 goals across Europe's top five leagues, a rate of 0.92 goals per game, while Ronaldo scored his 412 strikes in 532 games, a rate of 0.77 goals per game.
