A Marseille supporter entered the field of play and sprinted towards Lionel Messi during Paris Saint-Germain's clash with their Ligue 1 rivals on Sunday. Here are some images of the bizarre incident.

The 34-year-old started for the French giants in Le Classique, a game that ended 0-0. PSG boss Mauricio Pochettino saw one of his men sent off early in the second half, and therefore might have been the happier of the two managers at the final whistle.
While the match did not produce many memorable moments, there was a bizarre event in the 73rd minute when a Marseille fan made his way on to the field and chased down Messi as the Argentine moved towards the opponent's penalty area.

It is unclear as to what the fan's motive was, although there was not much time to find out, with stewards quickly removing him from the pitch.
How is Messi doing in France?
The former Barcelona captain has made seven appearances so far for the Ligue 1 giants, scoring three goals, all of which have come in the UEFA Champions League. He is yet to find the back of the net in league football for Les Parisiens, and is also yet to provide an assist for Pochettino's side.
