FC Barcelona superstar and captain Lionel Messi has broken his silence on his current situation in Spain amid rumours he could leave the club at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old has been tipped to move on from the Catalan giants in 2021, either in the January transfer window or at the end of the campaign.
Reports in Spain suggest that the forward could still be seeking a way out of the club due to his continued unhappiness, following his public spat with former president Josep Maria Bartomeu at the start of the season.
Messi, however, has now insisted he is currently content, and is relishing the challenge of getting Barcelona back to where he believes they belong.
See below where Messi ranks among the best-paid players in the world today:
"The truth is that today I'm fine. It's true that I had a very bad time in the summer," he told La Sexta.
"It came from before. What happened before the summer, because of how the season ended, the burofax and all that... Then I dragged it on a bit at the beginning of the season.
"But today I'm fine and I feel like fighting seriously for everything that lies ahead, I'm excited.
"I know that the club is going through a difficult time, at club level and everything that surrounds Barcelona, but I'm looking forward to it."
Messi, whose contract expires in June next year, has scored nine goals and assisted a further four strikes in 17 games across all competitions for the Blaugrana so far this season.
