FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has made history once again, achieving an incredible goal milestone only achieved by Cristiano Ronaldo and six other players in the history of the game.

The 32-year-old once again found the back of the net against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday. As a consequence, he has now scored 700 career goals for club and country, joining an illustrious list of just seven players who have reached this incredible milestone.
Messi has scored 630 goals for FC Barcelona, while his other 70 strikes have come for Argentina.

He also achieved the milestone a lot quicker than longstanding rival Ronaldo, who was 34 years old when he scored his 700th career goal in October 2019.
Ronaldo needed 973 official games to score 700 goals, while Messi reached the mark in just 862 games for club and country.
The Portugal talisman is currently on 727 career goals, with only five players in football history having scored more – click through the gallery above to see them all!
