Lawyer Claims Neymar's Paris Saint-Germain Contract Is Missing A Certain Clause
Reports linking Neymar with a move to Real Madrid have increased in the past few weeks, and now one of the player's lawyers has claimed there is a certain clause missing in his Paris Saint-Germain contract.
The 25-year-old became the world's most expensive player this season, when he moved from FC Barcelona to PSG for a fee of €222 million (R3.29 billion).
Marcos Motta, one of the lawyers who represent Neymar and deals with his contractual issues, has now claimed that his client does not have a release clause in his current deal.
"I can guarantee that there's no release clause in Neymar's contract," Motta told Radio Globo.
"Nor anything about objectives or ending the season as the top goalscorer."
The Brazil international only completed his move to the Ligue 1 side in August last year, but according to Motta, there was a month of negotiations before the transfer was completed.
"The father of Neymar Jr sent me a message in mid-July to ask me to travel immediately to the United States, and complete the contracts," he added.
Neymar has made 23 appearances for PSG so far this season, scoring 24 goals and assisting 16 further strikes.
