LaLiga are said to be investigating Lionel Messi after the Barcelona captain hosted a gathering at his house with all of his teammates this week.
According to ESPN, the 33-year-old is being investigated by LaLiga after he had his Catalan club colleagues over at his house for a gathering following their 3-2 victory over Valencia on the weekend.
The lunch caused quite a stir in Catalan media, with many concerned the six-time Ballon d'Or winner hosted his friends and teammates as part of a farewell, with his contract in Spain expiring at the end of the season.
It is now claimed that authorities will look into whether any COVID-19 protocols were breached at the get-together, with rules stating that people are only allowed to meet in groups of six in Catalonia.
According to ESPN's sources, the players and their partners spent the entire gathering outside and at separate tables to respect social distancing rules, although Spain's top division is reportedly seeking more information on the event.
