The rumours around a potential Neymar move to Real Madrid are in overdrive, but a LaLiga expert has now given his prediction as to if and when the transfer could happen.
After just seven months in France, the Brazilian has been linked with a stunning return to the Spanish top flight, with Los Blancos said to be his preferred destination, although a return to former club FC Barcelona has also been mooted.
Sky Sports journalist Guillem Balague believes Neymar wants a move to the Santiago Bernabeu, but added that if the transfer does transpire, it might only happen in a year and a half's time.
"We are going to be hearing this for the next 18 months, I think," Balague said on Sky Sports News.
"This is a campaign that has started in the Neymar camp. Yes, Real Madrid wants to have him.
"The €400m figure that has just come out, it comes from the entourage of Neymar. He's got no buyout clause, PSG are saying 'no way we're going to let you go', but the pressure's on, the pressure is absolutely on.
"On one hand, Neymar wants to go, on the other Real Madrid want to get him, and on the other PSG don't want to get rid of him.
"So this will continue for another year and a half before Real Madrid may actually get their man."
The 26-year-old has made 30 appearances across all competitions for the Ligue 1 giants so far this season, scoring 29 goals and assisting a further 19 strikes.
