Paris Saint-Germain starlet Kylian Mbappe has rubbished claims that Real Madrid superstar Cristiano Ronaldo is on the decline.
Ronaldo: This Star Will End CR7 & Messi's Ballon d'Or Reign
The Portugal international has not been at his best in this campaign, and there has been some criticism directed at him, with some suggesting that his time at the top is coming to an end.
After PSG's 4-1 win over Sochaux in the French Cup on Tuesday night, however, Mbappe insisted Ronaldo's form has nothing to do with any decline, and said that Les Parisiens will need to watch him carefully in their upcoming UEFA Champions League tie.
"Ronaldo is not on the decline. If he is on the decline, there are many more players on the decline then," he said, according to FourFourTwo.
"He is a great player. But we hope he will remain quiet against us.
"We will prepare for the game by paying attention to all their strengths. And he is one of their strengths in the team."
‘Ronaldo Deserves To Earn As Much As Messi’
The 33-year-old has made 27 appearances for Los Blancos so far this season, scoring 20 goals and assisting four further strikes.
