Kylian Mbappe has played against both Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo in 2018, but snubbed the two superstars when asked who the best player he has faced so far this year.
The teenage sensation, who won the inaugural Kopa Trophee for the best U21 Player of the Year at the Ballon d'Or gala on Monday, played against Ronaldo in the UEFA Champions League last season and faced Messi's Argentina at the 2018 FIFA World Cup.
However, he has named Chelsea and Belgium winger Eden Hazard, whom he met in the semi-finals of the World Cup, as the best player he has come across in 2018 so far.
"I was amazed by his speed of execution, he is the player I played against this year (who) impressed me the most. With Belgium, in the semi-finals, he was impressive while still respecting the game," Mbappe told France Football.
"When he has to pass the ball because the game commands it, he does so without any qualms. It's a devil.
"I was sometimes five meters away from him, and I was amazed by his speed of execution, with the ball sticking to his foot all the time, his permanent information with his head still down.
"There is no space he does not see."
Mbappe is currently the leading goalscorer in Europe with 12 goals in Ligue 1, while Ronaldo sits on 10 strikes in Serie A and Messi has found the back of the net nine times in LaLiga so far.
