The 35-year-old had previously stated that he would stay at Juventus this season, but recent rumours suggest that he could join Paris Saint-Germain ahead of the 2021/21 campaign.
As a consequence, Juventus are seemingly preparing for life after the five-time Ballon d'Or winner, and are putting a massive budget together to sign Kylian Mbappe.
According to Tuttosport, Juve are attempting to build a €400 million (R7.8 billion) budget to land the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner.
A chunk of this amount will likely be used for the transfer fee, while another large part will also have to be put aside to finance the forward's wages.
Juventus, though, will have to fend off interest from Real Madrid as well as Liverpool, who have also been linked with a move for Mbappe.
The 21-year-old's current contract expires in 2022, but he has reportedly told PSG he will not sign an extension and wants a new challenge.
Ronaldo, meanwhile, could move the other way, with the Bianconeri unlikely to want to spend big on wages for both the Portuguese superstar and Mbappe.
In addition, the 35-year-old has also previously told sources close to him that he could imagine playing for the French giants.
