FC Barcelona president, Josep Maria Bartomeu, hopes Lionel Messi will retire with the Catalan giants.
The 51-year-old, who replaced Sandro Rosell at the beginning of the year, says he has gotten used to the fact that Messi will be linked to other clubs in every transfer window.
"The window is now closed and nobody's talking about new signings any more. The possibility of Messi moving keeps on coming up, but we haven't considered it,” he told Marca.
“He's very happy here and we'll have Messi for many years. I hope he'll retire at our club.”
Messi has scored his 400th career goal for club and country on Sunday, and also scored Barcelona’s 500th European Cup goal last night.
The 27-year-old has recently signed a new contract extension but reportedly has a €250 million buyout clause.
However, he has always stated that he wants to play at Camp Nou as long as he is wanted by the club.
