Speaking on the upcoming UEFA Champions League semi-final tie between Liverpool and FC Barcelona, Jose Mourinho feels superstar Lionel Messi could be the fixture's deciding factor.
The Catalan club will host Jurgen Klopp's Liverpool in the first leg of their semi-final next Wednesday, with the return fixture set to be played at Anfield the following Tuesday.
Asked for his prediction on the tie, Mourinho feels the Reds are certainly in with a great chance of advancing to their second successive UCL final, but suggested that anything could happen for Barca with Messi in form.
"The reality is that Liverpool last season played the final, and this season they are in the semi-finals with, in my opinion, a 50% chance of being in the final," he told Russia Today.
"I think they are better (than last season). I would say Barca, without Messi, Liverpool are favourites. But Barca with Messi… Messi is Messi."
Messi has struck 10 goals in eight Champions League matches so far this season, and has also assisted a further three strikes in the competition.
