A star playing in Italy's top division has revealed that he was too embarrassed to speak to Juventus superstar Cristiano Ronaldo when he went up against the Portuguese recently.
AC Milan hosted the Bianconeri last weekend, and lost 2-0 courtesy of goals from Mario Mandzukic and Ronaldo.
Rossoneri goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma was unable to deny the five-time Ballon d'Or's strike in the fixture, and spoke about playing against the 33-year-old, revealing that he could not strike up a conversation with him.
"It was so exciting to meet Ronaldo, because I was always up against him in my PlayStation games," he told Rai Sport.
"I didn't speak to him, as I was too embarrassed."
The shot-stopper also touched on Gonzalo Higuain's red card meltdown late in the second half of that match.
"We forgave him, he is a great guy and apologised to everyone. It was a very important game for him and the key is that he knows he made a mistake, so won't do it again. He even spoke to the referee and apologised to him too," Donnarumma added.
"He was so disappointed, I went over and consoled him. He needs to stay calm, because he can give us a big hand and I'm sure he will do."
Milan are currently fifth in Serie A, 13 points behind first-placed Juventus.
