With Lionel Messi being one of the most difficult footballers to defend against, an FC Barcelona teammate of his has revealed how he suffers every day against the Argentine superstar.
Since making his senior debut for Barcelona in 2004, Messi has indiscriminately tormented opposition defenders en route to becoming one of football's greatest players ever.
Barca defender Clement Llenglet has now praised the 32-year-old, revealing that the Albiceleste talisman does not take things lightly against his teammates in training either.
"He's an extraordinary player – the kind of player who makes a real difference. He is very intelligent when he has to keep hold of and protect the ball," Llenglet told AS.
"To be honest, I'm one of the players who has to suffer playing against him every day in training, but I'm very happy he's on our side every weekend."
Messi scored his first goal of the season during the Blaugrana's 4-0 LaLiga win over Sevilla last weekend after recovering from a spate of niggling injuries.
