The FC Barcelona supporters will not boo or whistle Lionel Messi this upcoming, according to the club's former star Rivaldo.
The Argentine informed the club last month that he wanted to leave via burofax, but the Catalan giants are not looking to part ways with their talisman unless the €700 million clause in his contract is paid.
Messi's father released a statement claiming the clause does not exist and his son would be allowed to leave the Camp Nou for free.
However, The six-time Ballon d'Or will remain at the club for another season and Rivaldo feels he will get a good reception from the home supporters.
"If Messi stays, it won't be a problem because the fans love him and know he is still the player who makes the difference in the team," Rivaldo told Betfair.
"If he stays and we have fans in the stadiums again, I can't imagine Barcelona fans whistling him or booing him or something like that."
