With Lionel Messi having a broken relationship with Josep Maria Bartomeu, how he reacted to the former FC Barcelona president's resignation has now seemingly been revealed.
The Barca captain publicly slammed Bartomeu and his board after they blocked his exit from the club during the most recent transfer window.
In a wide-ranging interview, Messi criticised the state of the Blaugrana before revealing that he had to stay at the Camp Nou because Bartomeu had gone back on his word and would not let him leave for free.

The 33-year-old's words in September saw Barcelona members initiate a vote of no confidence against Bartomeu and his board.
It received more than 20 000 signatures, which ultimately led to the president and his board of directors' decision to step down this week.
Messi and his teammates were in Turin, Italy, for their UEFA Champions League match against Juventus when the news broke, with the Argentine said to be in good spirits upon hearing the latest development, according to Deportes Cuatro.
One of the Barcelona players reportedly even joked about putting champagne in the fridge in order to celebrate Bartomeu's resignation.
It is also claimed that Messi had not spoken personally to Bartomeu in months, while other high-profile players such as Gerard Pique also welcomed the resignation.
The Argentine will now wait for a new president to be elected, which is likely to happen in either December or early January, before deciding on his future.
His current deal expires at the end of the season, and he could sign a pre-contract with a new club in January.
