Cristiano Ronaldo was the hero of the night when Real Madrid thumped Atletico 3-0 in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League semi-final, and he has now commented on his superb display.
Real comfortably beat their crosstown rivals on Tuesday night, and will go into the return fixture with a three-goal advantage.
The Portuguese, who netted his 400th goal for Los Blancos during the derby match, praised his teammates, but also stressed that the tie is not yet over.
"The team did a tremendous job, we were outstanding," he told Real's official website.
"It was a complete performance and we performed very well right from the first whistle to the last.
"I'm very happy to have struck a hat-trick and made it 400 goals for Real Madrid.
"We've now got a good lead, but there's still the return leg to come and the tie isn't over yet.
"Atletico are a very fine, strong side and it's not by chance that they're in the semi-finals. We'll have to be focused for next Wednesday's game."
Ronaldo took his overall Champions League tally to 103 goals, and netted UCL goals eight to 10 for the current campaign, against the Rojiblancos on Tuesday night.
