With FC Barcelona and Napoli set to fight it out for a place in the quarter-finals of the UEFA Champions League next weekend, manager Gennaro Gattuso has discussed the threat that Lionel Messi poses.
Napoli, who hosted the Catalans in a 1-1 draw in the first leg of their round of 16 clash, are gearing up to face the Spanish giants in the second leg of the tie, on Saturday 8 August, before it becomes a one-legged knockout tournament from the quarter-final stage.
Speaking ahead of that match, Gattuso said advancing beyond Quique Setien's Blaugrana will not be easy, despite their poor form, and noted that Messi still has the ability to turn a game on its head.
"Barcelona is Barcelona, but we will go to the Camp Nou to impose our style and try to qualify for the next round. We will not be defeated before the start of the game," he said, according to Barca Universal.
"We can't make the slightest error against Barcelona. They get half a chance and put it in the top corner. We've got to play 95 minutes with our heads in the game.
"People think passing (the stage) is easy, it's really not. We have to become a team that thinks, that covers spaces the right way and remains totally focused.
"We are ready to face Barcelona. We have our style, we are prepared. But they have one player named Messi who can leave 10 players behind."
Napoli are unbeaten in Europe so far this season, winning three matches and drawing a further four games.
