Real Madrid have been boosted by the news that Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth Bale are fully fit for Sunday’s match against Villarreal.
The two forwards, as well as French defender, Raphael Varane, missed training sessions this week for ‘various precautionary reasons’, according to ESPN. However, Real Madrid have now released a statement regarding the fitness of their squad.
“Real Madrid undertook the penultimate training session with all available players ahead of the game against Villarreal,” a statement read on the club’s official website.
“Gareth Bale and Cristiano (Ronaldo) joined up with the group, and everyone completed a training session that was once again centred around ball work. The only players missing were Ramos, Khedira and James, as they are still recovering.”
Ronaldo’s fitness is an especially good omen for Carlo Ancelotti’s men because he has scored 10 goals in only eight outings against the Yellow Submarine.
