Former Galactico: Why Cristiano Ronaldo Left Real Madrid
A former Galactico has given his opinion on why he thinks Cristiano Ronaldo decided to leave Real Madrid for Serie A giants Juventus.
The Portugal international, who is Los Blancos' all-time record goalscorer, has decided to leave the Spanish giants after nine successful years at the Santiago Bernabeu, and Kaka, a former Real star, believes Ronaldo made the move to Italy in order to stay motivated and seek a new challenge.
"I think Cristiano is a very experienced player now, 33 years old, so he knows and understands the situation very well," the Brazilian told Omnisport.
"This decision to move from Madrid to Juventus, it is a very conscious decision. He knows (it is) time to move.
"(He is probably thinking) I achieved everything I could with Real Madrid, and now it is time to do something different to keep motivated.
"That is what moved him to accept the offer from Juve to change from Real Madrid to the Italian team."
Ronaldo made 438 appearances for Real during his nine-year stay in Madrid, scoring 450 goals and assisting a further 131 strikes.
