Spanish giants FC Barcelona shocked the footballing world when they announced the arrival of a certain high-profile African star, who has now spoken about what it is like playing alongside five-time Ballon d'Or winner Lionel Messi.
Many were surprised to see Kevin-Prince Boateng's name being linked with the Catalan giants in January, let alone to see him eventually join the Blaugrana on a six-month loan deal.
The 31-year-old is delighted to have been given a chance with the LaLiga champions, where he gets to see Messi close up.
"He's incredible," he told La Vanguardia.
"Honestly: playing against him is really hard, but to see him play now on the pitch is magic.
"He's like Ronaldinho. He wins games on his own. He could play in a team where the other 10 players defend and do everything on his own."
Boateng went on to talk about fulfilling a dream of his.
"I have changed teams a lot and this opportunity arrived near the end of my career," he added.
"Playing for this team is the most exciting thing that can happen to you in football. Every kid dreams of playing for Barca once.
"At my age, I'm a little old, it's a dream to play here."
The Ghanaian, who has played just once for Barca since his arrival at the Camp Nou, has been named in the squad to take on Real Madrid in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semi-final on Wednesday night.
