FC Barcelona superstar Lionel Messi has climbed to the top of the European Golden Shoe table, while Cristiano Ronaldo further cut his gap on the top 10.

The Argentine added another strike to his league tally in his side's 1-0 win over Atletico Madrid on Sunday, and now sits in joint-top spot of the European Golden Shoe race.
Messi, Mohamed Salah, Edinson Cavani and Harry Kane have all scored 24 league goals so far this season. Their 24 goals equal 48 points in the European Golden Shoe ranking, with on their leagues' accumulator being rated as "two" by UEFA.
Ciro Immobile follows with 46 points after scoring 23 goals in Serie A, while Benfica striker Jonas is the only player from outside Europe's top five leagues among the top 10.
The 33-year-old has scored 30 goals in Portugal's Liga NOS, but with the Portuguese top flight not considered among Europe's top leagues by UEFA, Jonas' goals are only multiplied by 1.5, and as a consequence, he sits on 45 points only.
Sergio Aguero follows with 21 goals and 42 points, while Luis Suarez and Robert Lewandowski have both scored 20 league goals, which calculates to 40 points each.
Neymar completes the top 10 with 38 points after netting 19 Ligue 1 goals so far this season. Ronaldo, meanwhile, is now just three goals shy of Europe's top 10 goalscorers after taking his LaLiga tally to 16 strikes on the weekend.
