With Neymar's desired move to FC Barcelona failing in the latest transfer window, the Catalan club's board could be facing a potential rift with superstar Lionel Messi.
Following the Spanish giants' failure to re-sign Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain, reports suggest a few players in the Barca dressing room might feel frustrated as a result.
Among other senior figures, Messi, in particular, might feel annoyed by the club's failed pursuit of the Brazilian, especially as he had told the board he would like to see the 27-year-old back at the Camp Nou.
Neymar will remain at the French giants, at least until January, with the Spanish side reportedly set to return for his signature next year.
Sport reported that Messi and his colleagues might feel particularly angered by Neymar not returning in this window, given the club's willingness to break the bank for Antoine Griezmann.
The Blaugrana are believed to have taken out a big loan to land the Frenchman's signature, which gave them almost no chance of being able to afford Neymar.
It has also been claimed that with so many players being linked with a potential swap deal for Neymar over the past few months, the dressing room is unsettled as a few stars have been left feeling unimportant and unappreciated.
Ousmane Dembele, Nelson Semedo and Ivan Rakitic, among others, were all linked with PSG as potential players to go the other way in a deal for the Selecao talisman, but will all ultimately be relied upon by Ernesto Valverde this season.
