Earlier this month, former Inter owner and chairman Massimo Moratti sparked speculation around a possible move for Messi after revealing his belief that it was no longer impossible to sign the Argentina superstar.
Rumours have spread like wildfire since, with the Daily Express even going as far as to claim the Serie A outfit is considering using long-time Barca target Lautaro Martinez as bait to seal the Blaugrana captain's signature.
Messi's future at the Camp Nou has been thrown in doubt following a spate of disagreements with the club's hierarchy in recent times and, with the club facing a backroom crisis following the resignation of six directors, Setien has now seemingly attempted to alleviate fans' fears.

"Perhaps the sad thing is that these crises are transmitted to the media. It would be better to work in a quieter environment but things are like that.
"I don't think what happened has made a player like Messi rethink whether or not to (stay with) the club. I am sure he will finish his career at Camp Nou."
